The name
Nalani — the stillness of the sky, the calm of the water. We took a Balinese candi bentar, the split gate you walk through to leave the ordinary world behind, and we built it into a bath.
Every Nalani is cut, joined, oiled and engraved by a single carpentry workshop in Bali. The teak is what you see, touch and sit on. Inside it, a food-grade vessel does the one job teak should not do: holding the water. No factory shell from a place you will never see. Just teak, water, and three minutes that change the shape of your day.

The Nalani Duo Barrel
A round teak ice bath for two. Built properly. Everything included.

A food-grade vessel sits inside a cage of solid teak staves, with 50 mm of insulation between them. Two granite benches let you sit facing each other with the water at chest height. The chiller, pump, filter and UV steriliser live in a ventilated teak cabinet alongside, so what your guests see is wood.

Every Nalani is built on the same tested core: a food-grade vessel, insulation, solid teak and its own machine. The steps, finish, lighting and your name are designed for your place.
The Teak Chest is photographed; other models are shown as concept images. Made-to-order models are confirmed with a written quote within 48 hours. Prices are delivered and installed in Bali; other islands on request.

Cold immersion is a wellness practice, not a medical treatment. If you are pregnant or have a heart, circulatory or blood-pressure condition, speak to your doctor first. Never plunge alone, and never after alcohol.
The craft
Made by a workshop, not a factory
Nalani began with one carpenter, one pile of teak and a very simple frustration: every cold plunge for sale in Bali was a plastic tub with a box of machinery bolted to the side, priced like a piece of design.
So we built the thing we wanted. Solid teak, because it is the one timber that laughs at tropical humidity and salt air. Marine plywood inside, where nobody looks but the weather still goes. Steps wide enough to sit on with a coffee. And the gate, hand-carved into a teak plaque on the cabinet door, so it darkens with the wood as the years pass.
Every unit is made to order and finished in Bali. We can engrave your villa, your studio or your retreat's name beside the gate — at no extra cost, on every build.

Teak is a natural material. Grain, tone and dimension vary slightly from unit to unit — tolerance ±5 mm. That is not a defect; that is the point.

Where can I buy an ice bath with a chiller in Bali?

Nalani builds teak ice baths with their own chiller in our workshop in Bali, then our team delivers, installs and fills them anywhere on the island: Canggu, Uluwatu, Ubud, Seminyak, Sanur and beyond. Do you make an ice bath for two people?
Yes, that is our flagship. The Duo Barrel seats two people face to face on granite benches, holds about 1,200 litres and costs Rp 85 juta. For two or three people there is the Duo XL, from Rp 95 juta.
How much does an ice bath with a chiller cost in Bali?
Our collection starts from Rp 50 juta for a one-person teak chest. The Duo Barrel for two is Rp 85 juta, with the 1 PK chiller, cartridge filter, UV steriliser, insulated lid, teak steps, delivery and installation in Bali included.
What is the warranty?
Twelve months on the cooling system from the day of installation, and twelve months on the workmanship. You also get a direct WhatsApp line to the people who built it.
Can I try one before I buy?
Yes. A Nalani teak ice bath is installed at Villa Madalena in Canggu, on Jl. Pantai Batu Bolong. Ask us and we will arrange a visit.
How cold does it actually get, and how long does it take?
It goes down to 5°C, and you can set it higher whenever you like. Many people settle between 6 and 9°C: cold enough to do the job, kind enough that you stay in for the full three minutes. From tropical tap water the first pull-down takes many hours; after that the chiller simply maintains the temperature, so it is ready every morning without ice.
What does it cost to run?
It runs from an ordinary 220V household socket. The chiller only works when the water drifts above your set point, so a well-sited, well-shaded unit with the lid closed costs far less than most people expect. We will size it with you for your specific spot.
How many people fit?
The Duo Barrel seats two, facing each other on two granite benches, with about 590 mm of legroom. The water is 850 mm deep for one person; for two large adults we lower the level a little so it stays below the rim.
Indoors or outdoors?
Both. Teak is built for the tropics and the machine cabinet is louvred and ventilated. Outdoors we ask for a shaded position where possible, clear air around the cabinet, and a covered power point.
How do I keep the water clean?
Continuous circulation through a cartridge filter and a UV steriliser, plus a weekly test-strip routine we teach you at handover. Rinse before you get in and the water lasts a long time. Plan a full drain and refill every two to three months; we show you how.
Do you deliver outside Bali?
Bali installs are done by our own team. Elsewhere in Indonesia, ask us: the finished bath weighs about 300 kg, so we plan the route and the lift with you before we quote.
Can you build a different size?
We can. Custom lengths, twin plunges, hot-and-cold pairs and built-in installations are all things we have drawn. Send us the space and we will send you a drawing.
